Privacy policy
In short: your images never leave your device. We only process the technical and browsing data needed to run the site, measure its use and show ads, always according to your consent.

Your images
ImageZap processes images entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. They are not uploaded, not stored on our servers and not transmitted to third parties.
So that you can convert your images again without re-uploading them, original files are kept in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). That storage is only accessible from your device and is removed when you press Clear, remove an image from the list or clear the site data in your browser.
When converting, EXIF metadata (including GPS location) is not copied into the output files.
The placeholder generator and the favicon generator also run only in your browser. If you install ImageZap as an app and share images with it from your phone's Share menu, they are stored directly in that same local storage without going through any server. The installed app also keeps a copy of the pages and code you visit in the browser cache so it can work offline.
Image audit
The image audit is the only tool that uses our server: when you enter a URL, the server downloads that page's public HTML and checks the size of its images to build the report. We don't store the URL or the report; the result is sent to your browser, and the delivery network (Vercel) may cache it for a few minutes to avoid repeating the audit. To prevent abuse, the number of audits per IP address is temporarily limited, without storing it permanently.

We don't collect your name, email or any other identifying data unless you write to us voluntarily.
Advertising
This site shows Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to show personalized ads based on your visits to this and other sites. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, consent is managed through a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) compatible with IAB Europe's TCF v2.2. If you don't consent, only non-personalized or limited ads are shown.
You can change your choice at any time through the Privacy preferences link in the footer, and manage Google ad personalization in Ad Settings. More information in how Google uses data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode: if you reject analytics cookies, no cookies are set and only aggregated, identifier-free signals are sent. Microsoft Clarity is only loaded after you accept storage and measurement.
International transfers
Some providers (Google, Microsoft, Vercel) may process data outside the European Economic Area. These transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
Retention
- Images and settings: in your browser until you delete them.
- Analytics data: 14 months in Google Analytics.
- Hosting technical logs: according to Vercel's policy, usually a few days.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to imagezap.app@gmail.com. Since we don't store identifying data, in most cases clearing the site data in your browser and withdrawing consent is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or your local authority.
